FACEBOOK / VEVO

Facebook reportedly in recent talks to acquire Vevo. Recent industry  news sources have mentioned.  the possibility of Facebook and Vevo joining  forces together to create a new social  network platform that would allow each of the two companies to  expand their outreach.  The question remains what is in store for Twitter?

The recent talks are creating an industry buzz  as Vevo's contract with You Tube, Google's driving force for  advertising revenue is due to expire within the next year. Sources have recently reported that Executives from both Facebook and Vevo have already met twice within recent weeks While the  discussions are known to be very premature, Facebook is showing interest in a similar arrangement to the one Vevo has now with Google's YouTube.

Facebook is looking to stream stream Vevo's music videos and the two companies would sell ads for revenue. It is noted that Facebook did not respond to an interview request, and a Vevo spokesperson was not available for comment. If Vevo were to leave Googles platform, Facebook could enhance their advertising revenues immensely, and remain a dominant force.  But still today, Facebook shows  no real compelling user-driven music service that could compare with You Tube and Vevo.

Interestingly enough: Facebook's CEO Mark Zuckerberg could eventually offer free-music listening in the form of music videos if a deal were to come about. That would certainly help Facebook maintain it's current users, attracting additionally another market as well.  Facebook remains determined to enter this market. With growth potential on the horizon,  compare You Tubes 130 million to Vevo's 43 million respectively. However, Vevo has only been around for just two years strong.  Imagine now having Facebook's 750,000,000  user strong fan base as potential video watchers. Now figure the numbers! But don't count Google out yet!   The Video Radio world is wide open amongst the social media giants!
